Yaayyy .
Finally.
After what seemed like the longest 2 months EVER.
She had the babies. Zues is the proud father of 8 little fuzzies.
They all took after him.. AND they had a BRINDLE?!
And!!! In his other litter with the English Bulldog... He had a brindle in that one too. So we figure it comes from Zues. The English Bulldog only had two pups. But they are huge!!! Less than 2 weeks and already the size of a 2 liter bottle.
Jayda's litter ((the pitbull)) Has some unique markings. Ill take picture…

I THINK NOT!!!!
Let's just start with a Big, FAT GGGggggrrrrr...... :)
Today was a normal day for my family. This evening we had planned on attending our small town, Fourth of July fireworks event. We had a nice family dinner together and loaded everyone into the SUV and begin to travel happily on our way to town.
In the car included my husband, two sons, and of course Mr. Ricco. We pull up to the curb and parked beside the sidewalk along with other cars. The boys are getting excited as they…

Had noooo idea there was a blog feature on this- not that I NEED a reason to endlessly ramble about Jane everything :)
Last night we had our second puppy class- of course, I was almost 30 minutes late, and the class was pretty-much over by the time we got there, but fortunately there was another woman who'd made a similar mistake and the trainer was sweet enough to hold another class for the two of us. We basically went over walking (I think Jane's going to get a new harness after we practiced…

Hey everyone. Just an update. We just adopted a great dane saturday. He's a 4 year old, blue-eyed, harlequin. And yes, he is deaf. He's about 125 lbs, small for a male dane. He is super smart because he is deaf he has no choice but to rely on his vision to communicate. He is house trained and responds to sign language for sit, stay, no, come commands. It's amazing. I grew up with Danes; for my parents bred them, but never experienced being around a deaf dane or a deaf dog of any kind for that ma…

Good afternoon everyone!!
I am looking to adopt a MUTT!! I absolutely love mutts and have grown up around a lab/flat coated retriever mix that I absolutely adore. Now it is my turn to adopt and raise a wonderful puppy!
Although I want a mutt, I love golden retrievers and labs...I like the longer hair and the cute noses..and although not 100% set on it being golden in color, I adore the golden color. I am not set on having a male or female, either will work wonderfully!
I would love for the pu…

Well, this has been the first transport I have done in ages. These high gas prices are really pinching everyone, and making it very difficult for ANY rescue to get these dogs to new, safe, loving homes. But, with a lot of determination we did it again!
This special pup was an English Pointer named "Paul". He was 2 hours from being gassed to death in a high kill shelter in St. Pauls, NC. He was pulled, vetted and on his way to CT!
I took him from Gastonia to Asheville. He was such a good boy, and…

Basic Dog Treats
Mix together
3 1/2 cup unbleached flour,
2 cup whole wheat flour,
1 cup cornmeal
1/2 cup skim milk powder
1 tablespoon (or 1 package) dry yeast
3 1/2 cups lukewarm chicken or meat broth
Dissolve the yeast in the lukewarm chicken or meat broth. The richer this broth is, the better your dog will like the biscuits. Let yeast broth mixture set 10 min. Then stir in flour mixture. Roll resulting dough out 1/4" thick. Cut dog biscuit shapes from dough. Brush biscuits with egg wash. B…

I've been walking dogs daily for two years. Sometimes they are my dogs, most times they aren't. And when you walk four or five different dogs per day, you learn to have fun with it. You also learn, mostly from the dogs.
I am always looking for ways to mix up my dog walking. I don't want it to ever become monotonous, boring, or look at like a task. So every few days, I'll share my routines. Here's part one.
Letting the World Go
This happens to be one of my favorites, especially when I ha…
